DIANNE GIBB

Ms. South Carolina, Dianne Gibb CONGRATULATIONS to DIANNE GIBB, Ms South Carolina Senior America 2014, and Special Thanks to Connie Karl and Elizabeth Garrison for a wonderful State Queen!

Dianne  grew up in Topeka, KS. After attending Washburn University, she worked in accounting and business. She held the position of Business Manager for a physician's group for eight years and then for a law firm. Desiring a career change, she accepted a position as a recruiter for a local employment agency. Eventually, she was able to own an employment agency with a business partner. She was a member of the Executive Board of the Chamber of Commerce and a member of American Business Women's Association. She served on several committees providing support to women re-entering the workforce and drug awareness to school children. After the death of her business partner, she closed her business. When her husband accepted employment in Kentucky she joined an international biotechnology company as assistant to the Director of Project Development.

Dianne  and her husband retired to South Carolina ten years ago and she has been actively involved in local theaters as an actress, singer and dancer. She has received several awards for her performances and serves on the Executive Board of the Sun City Theater. She is a docent at a local historic home where she conducts tours of the home and the city in antebellum attire. She is also a member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution.

She has been a distance runner completing eight marathons, several half-marathons, over 100 10Ks as well as several sprint triathlons. Most recently she was a caregiver to her husband for four years. This required living away from their home for extended periods. She volunteered with a Caregiver's Support Group during this time. Although he did not survive, thanks to the love of he life, she has four wonderful stepchildren and five healthy and happy grandchildren.
